therapy for People Who are ready for a healing path

My approach

In the almost 20 years I’ve been doing therapy, I have had the opportunity to learn a variety of ways to help. I tend to use approaches that help connect the mind and the body like Somatic and Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (S.A.F.E. E.M.D.R.) and Somatic Parts Work. I also bring in aspects of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to help connect you with what really makes you feel alive, and narrative therapy to find and work with the stories you have about yourself, your life, and what’s possible for you. Some of the core beliefs that I bring to the therapy space are:

  • Each person has dignity and worth

  • Unlearning is a gateway to liberation

  • All bodies are good bodies

  • There are no bad parts of you

  • It gets easier to heal when you feel at home in your body and learn to trust yourself

  • There are things about your path forward that only you can know

01

Reach out to me so we can schedule a 15 min phone call to see if we might be a good fit.

02

If that feels good, we meet to learn more about you and collaborate on a plan to meet your personal goals for therapy.

03

Then, with our roadmap of the work in hand, we move forward so you get to where you want to go!

The details:

  • I schedule weekly sessions with clients and you would generally have the same day/time each week.

  • I am in-network with several PPO insurance plans including BCBS, Aetna, and United.

  • I have a mostly telehealth practice so you can do your sessions in whichever confidential location you choose (as long as it’s in Illinois!) I also have an office for in-person sessions in the Ravenswood neighborhood at 4043 N. Ravenswood Ave in Chicago.
